For me working with families is so much more than taking a photograph.  With four children of my own I am reminded on a daily basis how quickly our families grow & change.  Whilst we are in the moment we think we will remember every detail of our child; it is only when you look back you realise how much you have forgotten.  I am passionate not only about capturing these moments but also giving families an heirloom for future generations to treasure.

A photo shoot has to be a fun, relaxed experience to truly capture what makes each family unique.  Although I trained at some amazing colleges I believe my understanding of family dynamics & strong rapport with children makes my portraits special.  My unobtrusive, natural style allows children to be themselves and for me capture your family story as it unfolds.

I love every minute of my job & feel very privileged to be part of each family I photograph.  I would be delighted to talk to you about what I do (contact).

How I work

The best portraits are always achieved in a place where your family is happy. I leave this choice to you; your house, garden, in the park or another place special to your family. I work using only natural light as I believe this produces the most beautiful images.

The session normally takes around two/three hours, but working with children & animals can be unpredictable so I never book more than one shoot in a day.

I start the shoot by getting to know your family and normally do a series of photographs around your home and outdoors. I am looking to capture the uniqueness of your family and give you a broad selection of images to choose from (about 100).

Two weeks after your shoot your photos will be ready to view either at your home or in my studio.  Choosing your photos is definitely the hardest part of the process, I work with you to help you make the best selection for your family.
